Selsyns are electromechanical devices that transmit angular data between two or more remote points. The data may be furnished in terms of precise mechanical position or as an electrical signal.
Most applications are of measurement and position indication; however, increased emphasis on automation has resulted in selsyns being used for control, as well as indication.
