Jackscrew Replacement Kits Have you had one of your older GE Breakers jam midway in the cubicle? A worn jackscrew assembly or a cable off-track on your obsolete lanyard mechanism could cause this. This potentially dangerous situation requires a complete substation power outage to correct. Parts Super Center offers a factory designed modification kit that will make your system safe and reliable. How often should you perform preventive maintenance? Preventive maintenance is often limited to the circuit breaker draw-out units. When a low voltage breaker sticks in the breaker cubicle, the entire system must be de-energized to repair the equipment safely. These unplanned outages generally take several hours to repair. The metal-clad mechanical draw-out equipment also requires maintenance to assure proper operation. Parts Super Center will help develop a predictive maintenance schedule to increase the reliability of your electrical equipment. What about Kits? The new jackscrew kit is easier to use with less moving parts than the obsolete lanyard pull cable mechanism. Mechanical drawings are supplied with each kit, making the installation simple for your switchgear craftsman. (Standard replacement doors are not part of the kits.) The existing doors are used with single or double jackscrew replacements. Parts Super Center jackscrew replacement kits retrofits the early-generation pull lanyard and single jackscrew mechanisms with excessive wear. Kits are available for AK/AKU-25, AK/AKU-50/AKT-50H, AK-75 and AK-100 circuit breakers in AKD-5 equipment.
