A Proud Tradition of Achievement starting with the Chicago Pneumatic Models 450A in 1983, and the Energy Industries FE450C series in 1996, the D422 and 424 series of compressors have set the standards for reliability & flexibility.

TYPE: Horizontal balanced opposed, two or four throws.

FRAME: This versatile, dependable unit has a heavy-ribbed, reinforced cast iron frame with full-depth main bearing caps to add strength and minimize vibration.

CRANKSHAFT: Forged steel design with integral counterweights.

CYLINDERS: A wide range of air cooled cast iron or ductile iron compressor cylinders.

COMPRESSOR VALVES: Steel valve seats and guards. Valve springs, lift, and plates can be tailored meet your performance conditions. Peek or MT valve plates are standard.

PISTON/PISTON RODS: Hard anodized aluminum alloy or ductile iron pistons. Weight controlled at factory so weight matching of parts is not necessary in the field. Carbon filled Teflon piston rings standard. Steel piston rods with rolled threads. Full floating vented rod and wiper packing.

CONNECTING RODS: Forged Steel with precision insert type bearings on crank end and pin end. CROSSHEADS: One piece ductile iron crossheads with babbitted faces.

LUBRICATION/COMPRESSOR: Gear type lube oil pump, directly driven by compressor crankshaft. Carbon steel shell and tube oil cooler, piped and mounted on compressor frame for shop test. Oil filter is full flow type, carbon steel construction, replaceable 10 or 25 micron synthetic filter element, and replacement indicator. System also includes an oil pressure control bypass valve, hand operated lube oil priming pump, stainless steel lube oil piping downstream ot the oil filter, and an oil level sight glass.

LUBRICATION/PACKING AND CYLINDER: Integral single pump force feed lubricator with block distribution systems, cycle indicator, and DNFT No-flow shut-down switch. Stainless steel tubing with plated fittings piped to the cylinders and packing. Lubrication feed rate is fully adjustable. Pump includes a hand priming pump, and rupture relief disk.

STANDARD TESTING: Frame mechanical run test, and cylinder hydrotest to GE Oil & Gas standards.

STANDARD ASSESORIES: Digital parts list (1). Digital maintenance/ operating manuals (2). General arrangement drawings. Lifting eyes. Special tools; spanner wrench for piston, rod insert tool.

OPTIONAL ITEMS: Drive through arrangement, variable volume clearance pockets, vibrations switches, CSA or XP No Flow switches, export, immersion oil heaters, flywheels and drive couplings.
